Friday:
Caught the train into the city. Dover to Penn is the most tedious ride. It stops every five minutes for an hour and a half, but we got there. Hilton Times Square is super cute, and five steps away from everything. No matter how tourist-y, I do love the flashy-ness of it all. That evening, we went to Hard Rock for dinner, and split nachos, yum :]
Chicago the Musical (they had to clarify, as if we didn't know we were seeing something on Broadway.) It was really high energy and fantastic. The theatre was great, really small, so everyone had a good view (but we had amazing seats regardless.)
Saturday:
BILLY ELLIOT. Well, it was already my favorite movie, when I found out about a year ago that it was going to be on Broadway, I had to see it. So, after months of waiting I finally got to see it, full anticipation for fabulous after it stole the Tonys. Oh my, it did not disappoint. The acting was great, and the writing was hysterical. Dry humor and sarcasm galore. I don't even think that I need to mention that Elton John is a lyrical genius. Every song fit perfectly with the scene. I was blown away. Weridly enough, during intermission, my mom saw a man with funny glasses walk by and asked me if it was Stanley Tucci. Turn out, it was. He was sitting two rows in front of us with his three children. What a funny coincedence. After the show, we did a bit of vintage shopping (always amazing), and hailed a cab that almost ran over some random man that was just laying in the street. That was interesting.
Sunday:
After a quick rendez-vous at the Hell's Kitchen flee market for costume jewelry, we cought the train back home. It was quite a successful weekend, not to mention, the best birthday ever.
